Landsman to Chabot: Push to Ban Assault Weapons Now

CINCINNATI— Today Greg Landsman is calling on Congressman Chabot to join Republican Congressman Chris Jacobs (R-NY) to push for a ban on assault weapons in the wake of the slaughter of nineteen children in Texas last week.

Landsman states: “Nineteen children were gunned down in their classroom. Our collective grief and outrage must lead to change. As Congress begins to debate what to do to prevent another mass murder of children, our representatives must get these weapons of war off our streets” Landsman said.

Chabot, a long-time NRA “A” rating holder, has received the 2nd highest amount of direct support from the NRA out of anyone in the House of Representatives. He’s taken more in direct support from the gun lobby than Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, or Lindsey Graham. Because of their hefty campaign contributions, Chabot has repeatedly voted against banning assault weapons and other common sense measures to keep our communities safe.

Landsman added “When I am in Congress, I’ll be leading the charge to ban these weapons. Anything less is an act of violence against our children.”
