The Issues

  • A father of two school-aged children, Greg understands the importance of bringing costs down for families. From big oil to pharmaceutical companies, Greg believes we need to hold price-gougers accountable and stop corporations from jacking up prices at the expense of middle class families.

In Congress, Greg introduced legislation to cap the cost of insulin for children and to decrease prescription drug prices for seniors. From medication to gas, groceries, and housing, Greg will continue to fight to lower costs and deliver relief to families.

  • Greg believes every family deserves access to good-paying jobs and benefits. On City Council, Greg successfully fought for wage increases and hazard pay for first responders. He also helped lead the effort for the first Project Labor Agreement in Cincinnati’s history, creating hundreds of good paying jobs on city projects.

In Congress, Greg is fighting for an economy that works for the middle class – not just millionaires, billionaires, and big corporations. Greg is focused on investing in job training and small businesses, raising the minimum wage, and protecting the right to organize. Greg is also leading the effort to invest in child care providers, so that the hardworking people who care for our children are able to live with dignity.

  • Greg will always fight to protect reproductive freedoms. In the wake of the Dobbs decision, and as the far-right works overtime to undermine women’s healthcare, Greg is focused on protecting women’s medical choices.

In Congress, Greg is working to codify Roe v. Wade, ensure access to birth control, and protect IVF treatment so that reproductive health decisions remain between women and their doctors.

  • A former teacher and the father of two school-aged children, Greg knows the importance of quality education. Greg led the effort to pass the Cincinnati Preschool Promise, which now provides two years of quality preschool for Cincinnati’s three and four year olds and has drastically improved school-readiness in the city.

In Congress, Greg will continue to fight for increased public school funding and better teacher pay. He is also working to lower the cost of college and increase career and technical education opportunities so that every student, no matter their path, can access quality training without the weight of crushing debt.

  • The recent Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act was one of the largest federal investments in American infrastructure in generations. Now, Greg is focused on returning our taxpayers dollars to Southwest Ohio to fix our roads, bridges, and waterlines.

From water lines and community centers in Warren County, to the Brent Spence Bridge and Central Parkway projects in Hamilton County, Greg is fighting to bring home tens of millions of dollars in funding to strengthen and rebuild our communities while supporting good-paying jobs.

  • Greg knows that safe communities require investment in public safety officials. As a member of City Council, Greg focused on strengthening the relationship between our communities and public safety officers. He fought for additional resources for local police and fire departments, restored overtime pay for police officers, and funded a second police recruit class for the first time in nearly 20 years.

In Congress, Greg introduced bipartisan legislation to help local law enforcement departments recruit and retain officers through federal funding programs, and he’s working to do the same for local fire departments. Greg will continue to fight for those who work to keep our communities safe.

  • A father of two, Greg wants to be part of the generation of parents that ends the national gun violence nightmare. From schools, to malls, to houses of worship and street corners, the loss of life from gun violence is staggering and outrageous.

In Congress, Greg will fight for universal background checks, red flag laws, age restrictions, and to ban assault weapons. He will work with his colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find solutions that save lives.

  • Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. Protecting the rights of voters is critical, especially as far-right politicians work to toss out votes and overturn elections when they don’t like the outcome.

In Congress, Greg is a cosponsor of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act that would restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and prevent state governments from enacting discriminatory voting laws. Greg supports expanding access to the ballot box and establishing independent redistricting nationwide so that voters choose their representatives, not the other way around.

  • No one should go broke visiting the doctor, the hospital, or paying for a prescription drug. Regardless of economic background or medical history, everyone deserves access to quality, affordable care.

In Congress, the first bill Greg introduced was to cap the cost of insulin for children. He’s also introduced bipartisan legislation to require increased transparency from Pharmacy Benefit Managers, which would help save seniors real money on their prescription drugs. Greg will continue fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act, lower premiums for families and seniors, hold big insurance companies accountable, drive down prescription drug costs, and cap insulin costs.

  • We owe our troops and veterans gratitude and the benefits they’ve earned through their service. Greg will always work to support and protect our troops, their families, and our country.

In Congress, Greg serves on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, where he is working to increase investment in veterans’ medical care and improve the Department of Veterans Affairs so that it delivers high-quality, effective, and timely service. Since the passage of the PACT Act, Greg has worked with veterans, veteran service organizations, and the VA to ensure that more veterans are taking advantage of the resources they are owed.

  • We must take action to address the threat of climate change and pass down a sustainable, safe world to our children. On City Council, Greg pushed to strengthen the Green Cincinnati Plan, a historic environmental justice ordinance that placed Cincinnati at the forefront of the environmental policy movement. He also supported the largest municipally-led solar project in America that brought significant, low-cost renewable energy to Cincinnati.

In Congress, Greg is fighting to protect access to clean air and water and hold polluters accountable. He is also working to return federal investments, made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment Act, that support renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental restoration in Southwest Ohio.

  • No one should face discrimination based on who they choose to love. Recent attacks in Ohio on LGBTQI+ individuals are unacceptable and dangerous to the mental and physical health of the LGBTQI+ community.

In Congress, Greg is a proud member of the Congressional Equality Caucus, which works to repeal discriminatory laws and expand equal rights for LGBTQI+ individuals. Greg supports codifying marriage equality and will always fight to make sure that no citizen is denied government services, employment, or faces other discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • Greg believes in a foreign policy rooted in democracy, diplomacy, and defense of our allies. Russia, Iran, and China’s actions, if unabated, will lead to larger, more expensive, and more deadly global wars.

In Congress, Greg will continue to advocate for support for Ukraine to fight back against Putin’s unjust and horrific war, preserve democracy, and avoid a larger-scale war in Eastern Europe. Greg will also continue to support Israel’s defense against Iran and its regime’s armies, which are determined to destroy Israel and its democracy. Greg hopes to be part of the group of leaders who work toward a two-state solution and long-lasting peace in the Middle East.
